Laboratory of Molecular Biology
The Molecular Biology Laboratory is equipped with high-quality equipment giving students the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in the field of molecular biology techniques. The laboratory also gives scientists the opportunity to conduct innovative research in the field of molecular biology.
Serving scientists
The state-of-the-art equipment in the Laboratory of Molecular Biology provides good conditions for research. Scientists can isolate DNA material, evaluate it, and study the expression of selected genes, its mutations and polymorphisms. As part of the scientific and research cooperation, the Laboratory of Molecular Biology cooperates with other scientific units, including with the State Medical University in Lviv and is part of the Medical Science and Research Consortium of Eastern Poland.
Serving students
Students of the following faculties: Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Cosmetology can use the laboratory as a part of their research. Classes conducted in the laboratory provide the opportunity to learn about the techniques of, among others isolating genetic material and then evaluating it. Work with genetic material also includes the study of the influence of various substances on the expression of selected genes. In addition, students could gain practical skills in identifying microbiological hazards in food products.
