Laboratory of Sound Processing and Acoustics
The main areas of the laboratory’s work are sound properties, measurements of acoustic equipment, room acoustics, digital signal and sound processing, and speech recognition.
Serving scientists:
The scientists can carry research in the field of artificial intelligence with speech processing and recognition algorithms
Serving students:
In the laboratory, students can make measurements in acoustics and learn about the construction and operation of devices such as an amplifier or a mixer. They measure acoustic transducers (microphones, speakers). They can also learn to design room acoustics or program systems with signal processors, e.g., audio signal processing.
The students learn to use an oscilloscope, function generator, and computer measurement set. The laboratory also enables work on speech recognition and natural language modeling. The laboratory’s hardware and software are used for the thesis. The laboratory is also a workplace for trainees cooperating with the Department of Information Systems Applications.
Serving business:
Works using sound and providing speech recognition system for voice services.
