Laboratory of Telemedicine

The Telemedicine Diagnostic Research and Laboratory is established with the mission of:

-Conduct research in the field of medical informatics

-Introduce students to techniques related to the application of new information technology and computer engineering in medicine and the healthcare sector,

-Undertake projects to develop new hardware and software solutions that support activities in the fields of diagnosis, therapy and rehabilitation, as well as scientific research in the medical field.

Serving scientists:

Research conducted in the Remote Diagnostic Laboratory covers areas related to medical informatics, which combines computer science and medical science that helps handle the storage, transmission, and design of information processing systems used in medicine and health care.

Studies are aimed at:

-Design of diagnostic systems and therapy/rehabilitation systems,

-Receive and probe medical signals,

-Medical signal/data transmission,

-Development and programming for medical devices,

-Support research activities in the field of medicine.

Studies supported by specialized equipment include:

-Telemonitor is designed to remotely monitor the patient’s physiological parameters (ECG – heart rate, SpO2 – noninvasive measurement of red blood cell oxygen saturation and heart rate, temperature, NIBP – blood pressure measurement by oscillometric method). Telemonitor allows to send basic physiological parameters over the internet to the monitoring center;

-Cardiol ASPEL – a modern electromagnetic system designed to monitor the patient’s physiological parameters. The system allows to receive electrocardiogram records stored in the memory of the monitoring device or stored in the mobile phone and transmitted via the internet or mobile network;

-Central Perfekt BIS – a system for displaying images captured and transmitted by monitors and bedside machines (in hospitals).

-Tobii T60 eye tracker – a device that allows to measure the position of the eyeball and track the movement of the eyeball during the reception of stimuli. With the device’s help, it is possible to analyze the user’s behavior during visual stimuli.

-BioImaging kits (EEG, EKG, EMG, GSR),

-Kit for designing and testing measuring systems: programmable frequency synthesizer, function generator, oscilloscope, multifunction data acquisition module;

-LabView Software
